How do I choose between the FV and S2 series?

Model selection is driven by four inputs rather than a letter code: the largest part envelope, the required accuracy and tolerance band, the per-part takt, and the line environment (vibration, temperature, dust). Both series share one software and hardware architecture, with differences mainly in field of view and range, accuracy class and degree of automation: a larger field of view with looser accuracy and stronger automated handling points to the higher configuration, while small parts with tight tolerances and manual assistance point to the compact one. The right approach is to send drawings and samples so we can recommend a model and configuration based on measured results.

How to select a one-click flash measuring model (4 steps)

Estimated time: PT1H

  1. Provide the largest part envelopeGive the length, width and height of the largest and smallest parts, confirm they fit inside the field of view, and assess stitching if needed.
  2. State accuracy and tolerance bandsList nominal values and tolerances for every measured feature and confirm the required repeatability, typically one fifth to one tenth of the tolerance band.
  3. Confirm takt and throughputProvide allowed measurement time per part and daily volume to decide whether automated handling and multi-station parallelism are needed.
  4. Assess line and integration conditionsDescribe vibration, temperature swings, dust and lighting, plus the PLC/MES interfaces required, to fix the model configuration and installation requirements.
